Business Headshot FAQ
Business portraits should show you at your confident best.
I'm often approached by people needing a professional shot for a presentation or publication. And let's face it, you need more than a snapshot for your LinkedIn profile. It's that chance to make a strong first impression. For all of your professional or social media needs, I offer a "mini-session" that's very much like my Actor Headshot sessions. It's a simplified session that we can shoot at your office, the beach, a local park or at my place. The session lasts about an hour with multiple looks. I can also arrange for you to have a terrific makeup artist who is an expert in natural looking, on-camera makeup. The makeup artist will stay for the entire session to keep you looking your best. Allow extra time for makeup and styling. The makeup artist is a separate fee and must be paid in cash on the day of your shoot. Your photos will be available to view within a week in a private gallery on my website.
Business Headshot Mini Session in NYC - $475.00. $100 Deposit is required to book a session. Shoot prices are subject to sales tax. Credit cards accepted. (**Book a session with me in Norwalk, CT for a discounted session fee at $350. It's a one hour ride from Grand Central on Metro North. Call me for more information.)
If you need photos that offer a unified look for your entire staff, I offer sessions in studio or on location. Please contact me to discuss your needs and we can discuss rates that are very reasonable for larger groups.
I will retouch up to two images as part of your session. Each additional retouched image is $30. My retouching style is minimal and individualized. I don't use automated software with a blanket setting for every shot. You should still look like yourself when all is said and done. Once you've selected your two top images, I will make those files available to you in one week.
Can I reschedule my session after booking?
While a deposit of $100 is required to hold your shoot date, you can reschedule once if you give three working days advance notice. For example, if your shoot is on Monday you must cancel by Wednesday of the previous week.
What should I wear?
Your clothes should fit well and make you feel confident. Open necklines are usually the most flattering for women (Think scoop or v-necks. Saturated, darker colors usually work the best. Try to avoid pale colors that are close to your skin tone. Choose colors that bring out your eyes. Generally, keep the shirts darker than your skin tone. That being said, white can be amazing! Keep it simple. Minimal jewelry is usually best. Shirts with distracting patterns or logos will take attention away from your eyes. Also, think about including a layered look with a well fitting jacket and a layer underneath that still has an open neckline, but is visible under the jacket. Keeping these guidelines in mind, if you know you look great in something that's "breaking the rules", bring it! Bring 4-6 tops to choose from. For men, layers can be great! Bring a blazer and collar shirt. A polo or plain t-shirt and well-fitted jacket is also a good choice. Arrive with your hair styled the way you would for an interview or presentation. (If you're planning to get your hair cut, allow for a week of settling into the haircut before the shoot.) If you're planning to use my makeup artist, come with a clean, lightly moisturized face (no makeup at all). Make sure to get some rest the night before... and stay hydrated!
